Why is this player being nominated?
Arlo has carved out a role for himself on our team as a ferocious forechecker and penalty kill specialist. He brings a strong work ethic and feet that don't stop moving to every shift. Over the course of the season he has become increasingly more physical taking away time and space from opponents. In December, we moved to dedicated special team units and challenged Arlo to embrace the role as a penalty killer. He has done so beyond the coaches' expectations. While he has learned how to effectively take away passing and shooting lanes in our zone, it is in the opponents zone where he causes real havoc in preventing them from breaking out. It has been great to see Arlo take pride in this role and make such a valuable contribution to the team.

In a big game versus RMAA, a divisional rival ahead of us in the standings, the team pulled out an impressive victory led by Arlo's stellar work on the penalty kill which was a perfect 6-for-6.
