COACH APPLICATION PROCESS

HEAD COACHES AND ASSISTANT COACHES -  APPLY NOW FOR THE 2024-2025 HOCKEY SEASON

Cochrane Minor Hockey is now accepting coaching applications for Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches for AA, REP, RHL, Female and Intro to hockey. Completed coaching applications along with police checks (if required) will need to be back to CMHA by August 1st.  The coaching application can be completed online.

Coach Selections:
The coach selection process will begin in late August and will run through September and evaluations for Female/REP and RHL

INTRO TO HOCKEY(U7/U9) and RHL: Coach Selection will begin in late August or early September with the intent of Head Coaches being in place prior to evaluations beginning.

REP and Female: Coaches will be placed on teams once the teams have been formed.

Evaluations:
We will be needing many volunteer Coaches to assist with Technical Goalie Evaluations. Shooters are required for the goalie evaluations, and it is very vital to their evaluation process that we have experienced hockey players/coaches that easily follow directions for this. Coaches are very good candidates for this volunteer duty and this is an expectation of CMH for all Coach Applicants. Please watch for sign up sheet to be sent out.

Coaching Requirements

Before your first ice time, all CMHA Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Goalie Coaches and Trainers must have the Respect In Sport Activity Leader course completed.

Police Checks: Police checks are valid for 3 years within Cochrane Minor Hockey.  If you do not have a valid police check on file with us, you will be required to provide one.  Police checks are a mandatory requirement for liability purposes and CMHA will be strictly enforcing adherence to this policy.

If you are unsure if the CRC that we have on file has expired or not, please go to your Spordle Account (how to below) and under the Dashboard click on the Members Icon and your profile will pop up.  Click on CRC and you will see what date your CRC will expire.

You will be required to submit a letter from the organization you are volunteering for. Here is the link to the letter you will be required to bring a copy to the RCMP station.

VOLUNTEER LETTER FOR POLICE RECORD CHECK

Also please visit the Hockey Alberta website to see what the requirements are for each level of coaching. Coaching courses need to be completed by November 15th. Successful candidates carded to team rosters will be required to provide proof of registration for required clinics. It is important that all coaches understand team approvals cannot be completed if all Coach requirements have not been met. Hockey Alberta will be enforcing this very strictly and teams will not be allowed to participate if they are not approved.

The website also provides you with locations and dates to obtain the courses, some courses may require online and on ice sessions to complete the course. Course dates and locations should be updated in August.

CMHA will reimburse all Coaches carded to a team for all courses/clinics that you successfully complete. Receipts must be emailed to Tracey Nash  administrator@cochraneminorhockey.com  by December 31st. Please follow the reimbursement instructions. Coach Reimbursement Form (google.com)
