Coaching Announcement: Sam McCulloch as Head Coach for Cochrane's U13 AA Female Hockey Team
We are thrilled to announce that Sam McCulloch will be the head coach for the newly established U13 AA female hockey team in Cochrane!
Sam grew up on a ranch just 20 minutes north of Cochrane in Dogpound, Alberta. She began her minor hockey career playing for the Cochrane Timberwolves, and completed her final year of minor hockey with the Airdrie Xtreme.
Her journey in female hockey took off with Team Alberta, and she further represented our country on the international stage with Team Canada. For four years, Sam played for the Calgary Oval Xtreme before earning a Division 1 scholarship to Mercyhurst University in Pennsylvania, where she took education.
Hockey runs in Sam's family; her cousins, brother, and husband have all played professional hockey, showcasing the deep-rooted passion for the sport in her lineage. She is also a dedicated mother to three daughters who all play hockey, further solidifying her commitment to the growth of female hockey.
Sam's love for teaching has naturally translated to her coaching career. She is entering her 15th season as a coach, most recently leading the U11A Chaos team to a league banner victory. Her commitment to the sport and her dedication to growing female hockey in Cochrane is truly inspiring.
We are excited for Sam to bring her expertise and passion for the game to our U13 AA female hockey team, and we look forward to an exciting and successful season ahead!
Welcome aboard, Coach Sam!
