COACH APPLICATION PROCESS
To all CMHA Families:
Cochrane Minor Hockey Association is now accepting coaching applications for the hockey season. Upon registering your player you can select the Head Coach or Assistant Coach as a volunteer position. Application forms will be sent out once registration is closed.
Coach Selections:
The coach selection process will begin in late August and will run through September and evaluations:
U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, U18 Coach Selection will begin in late August or early September with the intent of Head Coaches being in place upon completion of evaluations.
Rep: Coaches will be placed on teams once the teams have been formed.
Coach Requirements:
Police Checks: Police checks are valid for 3 years within Cochrane Minor Hockey. If you have a police check on record you are not required to submit. If you do not have a police check on file you will be required to provide one. Police checks are a mandatory requirement for liability purposes and CMHA will be strictly enforcing adherence to this policy.
In order to complete the police check; please download the form from the CMHA website, (found under the COACHES menu tab) complete the form and take it into the local RCMP office. It can take several weeks to have this completed.
Coach Certifications:
NCCP: CMHA will once again be offering all of the National Coaching Certification Programs (NCCP) required by Hockey Canada in the fall. Once the program dates have been established, they will be posted to the website. Respect in Sport: All coaches are required to take the Respect in Sport Leadership Module. If you are new to coaching or need the course, the course is online at https://ha.respectgroupinc.com/secure/.
Evaluations:
Player evaluations will begin in September. CMHA will be looking for all coaches to help contribute time during evaluations.
Coaches are CMH's best resource when it comes to evaluating players and it is the expectation of CMHA that anybody wishing to coach will volunteer to help with evaluations. More details regarding evaluations and volunteer requirements will be available over the coming weeks.

Step 1: click on registration link below
Step 2: Login to your account
Step 3: Select Coach/Staff Registration ?
Step 4: Choose ?your name from the list of family members not your child's name? if your name does not appear then choose add a family member.
Step 5: ?Select 2022-2023 COACH APPLICATION
Step 6: ?Choose role you are volunteering for? and then select continue
Step 7: ?Sign Coach Pledge
Step 8: ?Complete the Citizenship/Birth Country/Ethnicity and if you identify as an Indigenous Group (these are all Hockey Canada required fields)
Step 9: Complete Waivers and then select continue
Step 10: Review information and then select Submit Registration?
