Cochrane Minor Hockey Association is now accepting coaching applications for the hockey season. Upon registering your player you can select the Head Coach or Assistant Coach as a volunteer position. Application forms will be sent out once registration is closed.
Coach Selections: The coach selection process will begin in late August and will run through September and evaluations: U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, U18 Coach Selection will begin in late August or early September with the intent of Head Coaches being in place upon completion of evaluations. Rep: Coaches will be placed on teams once the teams have been formed.
Police Checks: Police checks are valid for 3 years within Cochrane Minor Hockey. If you have a police check on record you are not required to submit. If you do not have a police check on file you will be required to provide one. Police checks are a mandatory requirement for liability purposes and CMHA will be strictly enforcing adherence to this policy.
In order to complete the police check; please download the form from the CMHA website, (found under the COACHES menu tab) complete the form and take it into the local RCMP office. It can take several weeks to have this completed.
Respect in Sport: All coaches are required to take the Respect in Sport Leadership Module. If you are new to coaching or need the course, the course is online at https://ha.respectgroupinc.com/secure/.
Evaluations: Player evaluations will begin in September. CMHA will be looking for all coaches to help contribute time during evaluations.
Coaches are CMH's best resource when it comes to evaluating players and it is the expectation of CMHA that anybody wishing to coach will volunteer to help with evaluations. More details regarding evaluations and volunteer requirements will be available over the coming weeks.
