A Brief Overview

Cochrane Minor Hockey Association: A Brief Overview

The Cochrane Minor Hockey Association (CMHA) administers a minor hockey program for residents in the boundary outline by Hockey Alberta https://cloud.rampinteractive.com/cochranemha/files/cochraneminorhockeymap_2.pdf. The current CMHA hockey program consists of:

  • High-Performance Level AA "South Central Alberta Hockey League

  • Community Level REP "Central Alberta Hockey League" Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, Tier 4, Tier 5

  • Community Level RHL "Rockies Hockey League" Tier A, Tier B

The program exists for players from 4 years - 18 years of age. CMHA has formulated a constitution and registered it with Hockey Alberta, and the Government of Alberta under the societies act.

For AAA tryouts, players from Cochrane who aspire to participate at this elite level are required to register through Airdrie Minor Hockey. It's crucial to note that, irrespective of the AAA tryout process, all players must maintain their registration with Cochrane Minor Hockey.

In the event that a player is not selected for the AAA level, they still have the opportunity to participate in AA tryouts. To ensure inclusion in AA tryouts, it's imperative for these players to adhere to our registration deadline dates. Please be advised that registrations submitted after the specified deadlines may not be accepted and if accepted will be charged a late fee of $250.

This approach ensures a streamlined process and enables us to plan and coordinate effectively for the upcoming season. If you have any questions or require further clarification on this matter, feel free to reach out. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to another successful season with the CMHA community.
