COVID Symptom questions

Aug. 26, 2020

Hello CMHA families.

Managing organized sports in conjunction with Covid19 is obviously no easy task.  CMHA has been following the protocols laid out by both Alberta Health Services and Hockey Alberta with respect to camps, programs, etc. however, as expected, there are still many variables and questions as we physically take to the ice again.

Unfortunately, the CMHA staff are not qualified to answer many of the questions coming our way, or to make any diagnoses or decisions regarding your child(s)’ health in the event they are experiencing symptoms or someone in the home has any type of symptoms.  If you have any concerns of this nature, we advise you to call AHS at 811 for advice and/or direction.  They are qualified to assess the situation and make recommendations with respect to testing, isolation protocols, etc.  If parents are concerned that their child has been exposed or poses a possible risk to others, CMHA expects parents to take a cautious approach and follow any instructions from AHS with respect to testing and rejoining their hockey program.

Thank you for your understanding - together we will make this a fun and safe hockey season!
